One of my biggest reality that only appears in my mind is the thought about something or someone popping out of nowhere in the darkness. In darkness I like to about scary things that might just pop their heads or jump in front of me and scare me to death. I don’t know why I do think like that but I think it is due to my fear of darkness. And whenever I get scare I begin to think about an unbelievable load of scary things that will never appear. Eventhough I know that there is a minimum chance of something popping out of the darkness, I still think about it and prepare myself for the worst case scenario. You can call me a little chicken, but i believe in ghost so it can happen to me whenever. It is kind of like when someone who is afraid of height is actually standing on a one foot diameter board over one hundred feet in the air. That person is driven by his fear of height that he will only think about either not falling or is about to fall, thus causing that person doubt and falls. So in my case nothing may appear but because I am in that state of mind, I think about undoubtful thoughts like those that I do.

October 23, 2008North Korea’s hatred on the US
October 23, 2008One big issue about US-North Korea relationship is that we hate each other and is willing to say anything to our people to make them dispise one another. The North Korea view of the US can be classify as a sensory perception, ethic, and history. The reason that N. Korea hates us is because of our history together and our disagreement with one another (our type of government), their view of us seems to be bad because they think badly of all USA citizens, and thus with history and sensory perception it leads to their ethics that they are correct and right about all of the criticisms about the US. And in vice-versa we don’t like their country too but not to their extent of hating all americans. They hate us for their own reasons but make all of their children believe that americans are dogs and bastards that should just be kill. But as for us we (the children) have our own right to believe whatever we believe is to be true and for our own reasons. So the biggest issue that N. Korea has is that they like to brainwash all of their children to believe that americans are nothing but dogs and are all bad.
Being Artistic
October 23, 2008People criticizes a lot about Picasso’s art; cubics. I too don’t critcize his work of art but I am confused about why his cubic arts are known as modern art. I would see, myself as a regular person that modern art would be something like animated or is like a picture colored in all real colors and shows modern-day stuffs. The arts of Picasso’s cubicismvshow an abstract picture of an image that a person can probably see but it is distorted. For example we did a drawing picture of a person sitting in a chair. You can see that it is a picture of the person sitting down in the chair but image is distorted by cubicism thus making it look abstract. So when people look at Picasso’s drawing of image that has been converted into cubicism, they would not think that it is modern day art, because it is either new to them or they just don’t accept it as a new/modern art. Yes it is a new art but differentiating if it should be resembles as modern art or not, I’d say that people will probably not agree that it is modern art at all. Another reason not to believe that cubic is not a modern day art is because we’ve seen too many new art such as HD, or better lighting in the theaters, and animated art and therefore we infer those to be new art, because they are brighter, have better colors, and are only shown in our time(20th Century). So in the end I too will agree that cubic is not a modern day art, because there isn’t any high-tech quality of cubic art beside its new way of showing an image but more abstract that’s all.
EX Natural Science
October 23, 2008In my perspective, there cannot be an example where you use the scientific method without using math. The scientific method is part of science and science lab or works/investigation involves mathematics skills to solve the mathematical problem or equations. For example in chemistry you have to use math to solve for the cahnge in heat with various equations and in physics it requires a lot of math skills to solve basically all of the questions. Biology can and cannot be part of it, because biology labs doesn’t always consist of the scientific methods. Most of the time it is to follows the procedures adn explains the lab results from your datas. There is no hypothesis in biology labs for most of the time. So I would say that it is rare to have a science lab where you are not using the scientific methods, because the methods are to help guide you in your experiment and show how your hypothesis was wrong or why your lab didn’t come out right. These are requirements for each of your science lab.
Quantify Ethics?
October 23, 2008No, I don’t think that ethic questions can be quantified. I highly believe that ethic questions can be about whatever they want and be about anything. For example someone might say that “I didn’t go to school to get my education because I needed to support my family immediately, and that was priority to education.” and another may say, “I decided to go to school because later after I get my degrees I can further help my family, but they would have to be patient.” These two different scenarios about the same topic but different choices can be view as both ethical as long as they are believed to be doing the right thing for themselves or others. In the first person he may chose to work for money to support his family, and that may be his way of doing goods for his family. On the other hand the other person choses to go to school for a period of time and in the future will have a better pay and support his family. Both person decision can be ethical due to their reasonings either for themself or for others. In that case ethical questions cannot be quantify. There cannot be one scenario and only one right choice out of the scenario, their can be two right choices as long as it has meaningful reasons.
Propaganda in the form of Art
October 7, 2008i think that propagandas take the form of art, because it is visual. The only way to express propaganda is by saying it or having its message incorporated into an art piece. The art can show the object that the message is referring to and the message without saying any words(but there can be writings on it to help translate the art). In the art, people can interpret the art in their own words and thoughts. Even though they may have a completely different interpretation the message is still the same to all viewers.
Antarctica is covered in ICED?
October 7, 2008I believed that Antarctica is covered in ice because it is what we learn in school. The information is documented into books, meaning that the informations are facts so it is real because it has been documented by people who’s seen it or discovered it. There are facts such as the continent lies in the most southern part of the globe, so therefore it is colder. The reason we know this is because we know that the equator has the highest temperature and the further something is from the equator the less hotter it gets or the colder it becomes. And also we know that there is very few living things that live in Antarctica. So therefore we can conclude that it’s a non-living place for most organisms in the world, except for animals that can withstand the cold weather such as; polar bears, penguins, and walruses. We know that these animals mostly live in iced cold lands so we can infer that the area that they live in is cold.
How math was created in our world?
September 30, 2008I myself believe that the creation of math is due to both; its natural existence in the world before us and our discovery of math. In my eyes math is like all of the natural resources on the earth and we scientists just discovered them and create or put all of the pieces together to form what we have now and the first person gets to name it. So in our world I believe that math has already existed adn we just have to find it, uncover its clues, and interpret the fossils into words. A good axample would be the Golden Ratio, where proportional body parts of a person body has a ratio of 1.61803399. In life the ratio has already been there to the making of human being and animals, and we hust have to discover the ratio, interprets its meaning, name it, and invents ways of using this fact to solve for other problematic issues. So in my belief I believe that math had existed before us and we just have to discover it, interpret/discipher it, and invent names for them.
Being EMO!!!
September 30, 2008My biggest fear is darkness. I hate to be alone or with people in total darkness. The reason why I hate to be in total darkness is because I have a wild imagination of things while I’m in the dark. I imagine about mainly scary things that will pop up in front of me and the thought of those things just freaks me out of my skeletons. My fear in darkness causes me to think of unbelievably scary stuff that probably won’t happen but that I think that will happen. To tell the truth I guess I’m kind of a scardy cat myself. Just the sight of darkness makes my vision sense go wild and make my brain to produce scary images in front of my eyes. So the fear of darkness makes my sense of vision going berserk and think of wild adn scary images.
Reasonable Thoughts
September 30, 2008The one story that I remember when I use reasons instead of using language was at work. I work at Walgreens on Maryland Ave. and Prosperity Ave. and I am a cashier on register one. Once in a while I would get customers that are mute (that uses sign languages). I don’t know specifically who they are but when they come up to me i would say “hello” and/or “how are you doing?” to them. And the instant that they don’t reply or just shoke their head(s) I would realize instantly that they are mute or cannot talk. Dispite the low communication I have with them I would still treat them as regular customers and say all of my taking(such as “your total is $__.__”, etc.). Then at the end I will be assured that the customer is mute by them using sign language to me. Mainly the costumer will give me a sign-language sign of saying “thank you” by throwing their hand toward me from under their chin. With that sign I can tell that they are mute and gratefully take their “thank you” as a compliment.
